The Reverend Angela Brands

Angela Brands

The Rev. Angela Brands

Angela Brands was born in London in 1971 and baptized at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in 1974.  Angela's family moved to Ottawa. Angela and her family were active members at Trinity Anglican Church in Ottawa South. Angela was confirmed at Trinity, was a server and member of the choir. Angela was also an active participant with Canadian Girls in Training, an organization affiliated with the United Church which helped young girls grow in their Christian faith. In high school Angela was a volunteer with the Provincial Disabled Games helping disabled athletes prepare for competitions and giving moral support. Angela graduated from Woodroffe High School with her O.A.C. diploma before entering Algonquin College where she studied law and received her diploma in Legal Studies.

In 1992 Angela moved to South Western Ontario so she could be closer to her Father's side of the family. Angela enjoyed her extended family in Delhi and decided to make South Western Ontario her home. In her early twenties, Angela met her future husband, Kevin Brands, and married in October of 1996. Angela attended the Christian Reformed Church with Kevin for five years then they became members of St. John's Anglican Church. From 1998 until recently, Angela has had an active ministry in the church life at St. John's. She was the church secretary, treasurer and member of Parish Council. She has also been active as Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, and leader of the Alpha Course.

On December 4th, 1999 Angela and Kevin became the proud parents of their daughter Fiona. Fiona is now eight years old and is in Grade 3 at Huron Centennial Public School. Due to Kevin's untimely death six years after they were married, Angela sold their Nursery business and moved into Tillsonburg to complete her studies.

In 2001, Angela continued her education at Western University where she studied Philosophy, Psychology, New Testament and Old Testament Studies. In 2003, she was accepted at Huron University College where she graduated with her Master of Divinity in May 2006. As well as Theological studies, Angela's training at Huron and with the Diocese involved Intern Chaplaincy work at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in 2004 while completing a course in C.P.E., she was also the student in charge at Grace church in Rondeau Park for the summer of 2005 and completed he field placement at St. James’ Anglican Church in Ingersoll in 2006.

Angela started her ministry at Trinity, Bayfield and St. James’ Middleton on December 1st, 2007.  Angela is looking forward to serving both parishes and getting to know the church family.

TRINITY VISION & MISSION STATEMENT

In August 2003, members of the Trinity congregation spent an evening together formulating both a Vision Statement and a Mission Statement for the Parish.
Through Prayer and lively discussion, this was felt to express the purpose of our church.

Our Vision
To help each other experience a closer relationship with Jesus as individuals, and to take Jesus and His Love into the world, through Worship, Outreach, Fellowship, and Communication.
Our Mission
Trinity Anglican Church proclaims the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through Worship, Love, Fellowship, and Service.
